Los Angeles Development Church & Institute is a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles, California.  We welcome people from all backgrounds, faiths, nationalities, and walks of life.  Our institute is built on the philosophy that we find our identity and purpose in life through connections to the community, to the natural world, and to humanitarian values such as compassion and peace.  

The following is a list of beliefs that we espouse:

• We believe in securing fairness and justice in society, and abolishing intolerance and inequality
• We believe in resolving our differences peacefully and achieving mutual understanding for the good of society
• We believe in the fostering of moral excellence, and in the virtues of honesty, responsibility, and altruism
• We believe in our capability as human beings to exhibit to the fullest extent honorable qualities such as hope, compassion, beauty, truth, and optimism
• We believe in the ethical education of our children, in order to help them grow into noble human beings
• We believe in the cultivation of the arts and sciences
• We believe in helping the disadvantaged to the best of our abilities

Our goal is to award honorary degrees to individuals we can be proud of--individuals who have shown generosity, who have given back to their communities, and who have inspired others through their passion and commitment to their fields of study or work.  We believe that education isn't limited to what we learn in the classroom.  People learn throughout their lives, at work, at home, in our communities, and in our churches.  That learning is valuable and is worthy of an honorary credential.  

We started as a small community-based organization.  As we awarded honorary doctoral degrees to our local members, we noticed the transformation that happened within these people.  They received a new energy and motivation that empowered them to continue doing the kind of selfless and charitable work that had earned them honorary recognition.  Our goal as an organization is to do this on a global level, because there are amazing people all around the world who continue to dedicate their skills, their valuable time, and their money to help others, often for nothing in return.  We want to honor these people.  Are you one of them?  Do you deserve an honorary doctorate?
