Using & Displaying Your Honorary Title

honorary doctorate, honorary PhD

The honorary degree you will receive is an impressive document ready for framing or displaying in your office or place of work.  It is printed on custom-made parchment paper, includes our golden adhesive seal, and the signature of the Officer of LADC Institute.

As soon as you receive your honorary degree, you may rightfully refer to yourself as an honorary master, doctor or professor, and enjoy the benefits that these titles entail.  When using or displaying your title, these three aspects should always be clear:

  1. That the degree is an honorary degree
  2. The awarding institute and country of origin (United States)
  3. The type of discipline (Religion, Counseling, Metaphysics, etc.)

The recipient of an honorary degree may add the title post-nominally. In some countries, like the United States, a person who holds an honorary doctorate can use the title "Doctor" before their name, abbreviated "Dr."  In other countries, you must always establish the honorary nature of your degree by adding "honorary", "honoris causa" or "h.c." in parenthesis after the degree title. Honorary titles may be used outside of the academic field as long as it is made clear that they are not professional designations.  Moreover, an honorary title should never be deceptively similar to a professional title in the judgment of an average observer, as this can constitute false designation.

As long as you abide by these simple guidelines, you may legally refer to yourself as an honorary master, doctor or professor, and take advantage of all the benefits.  We sincerely hope that your honorary title will inspire you to learn, grow, and serve others.

"Thanks for my honorary master's degree in humanitarianism.  For the past 12 years, I have worked with NGOs in Sierra Leone and Guinea helping the less fortunate.  The humanitarian crisis in Africa can be disheartening at times, but getting this honor from you has strengthened my faith and encouraged me to keep going, keep doing, keep helping.  Proverbs 19:17, "Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed."

"Thank you for your incredible service.  I never had a chance to study for an academic degree when I was younger, and I always felt that this held me back in life.  This has finally leveled the playing field for me, and now I can hold my head up a little higher as I introduce myself as an honorary doctor.  Thanks again."

Dr. h.c. of Religious Economics (Brisbane, Australia)

"Thank God for empowering me through your organization.  You can make a lot of changes in the lives of others, and your honorary doctorate in divinity has allowed me to do just that.  I now lead a small group of 16 people.  We visit the sick.  We feed the poor at the shelter.  My life has been spiritually, mentally, and physically changed."

-- Pastor Cameron Brown, Doctor of Divinity, (Birmingham, Alabama)

"I had worked as a counselor for many years, but had no formal educational degree to prove my expertise. My honorary doctorate in Counseling from LADC Institute opened new doors for me and gave me the opportunity to help a lot more people."

-- Dr. Honoris Causa Christina Ackermann (Auckland, New Zealand)

"My colleagues reached out to me for advice and valued my opinion much more after I received my honorary master's degree from your institute.  I felt that I had more clout within my company, and I was a little more confident when it came time to ask my boss for a promotion."

-- Arnav Jayaraman, Master of Metaphysics (Bangalore, India)
